Meet Manar El Nagar, an AGF scholar from Egypt who pursued a MS in Nanotechnology at the American University in Cairo

“Being alumni of this big organization has a great impact on me. I am connecting with many AGF scholars from different disciplines across the world, we help each other in all aspects of study, career, and personal life. It is a life-changing experience for me, and I’ll always be grateful for it.”

Manar graduated from the American University in Cairo in 2019. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Germany to understand more about molecular and cellular mechanisms by which living organisms respond and interact with exogenous stimuli.

In addition to that, she collaborated with researchers from the environmental program at AUC to fabricate translucent wood-plastic composite to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. This project was recognized by UN Environment West Asia Office, and by the Egyptian Minister of Environment.

Manar is aspiring to have her own research lab with a focus on collaboration with industry when possible.
