Meet Ahmed Hegazy, an AGF scholar who pursued a MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Waterloo

“I am very grateful to the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for its support during my two-year master program at University of Waterloo through the AGF STEM Scholars program and for giving me the opportunity to learn about different cultures, make great friends and go through unique experiences.”

Ahmed graduated from University of Waterloo in 2020. During his studies, he was accepted in an internship as a Hardware Engineer at Google in California, where he was able to work and contribute to the development of Google Nest’s new generations of smart home systems.

Besides his studies, Ahmed was able to work and publish scientific papers in the field of radio waves and antennas.

Currently, Ahmed is working as a Hardware Design Engineer at Kepler Communications, Toronto, Canada, where he is working on designing, building and deploying the first in-space internet network using satellites to connect space assets to earth. Previously, he used to work for Ciena R&D Center in Canada as a Hardware Engineer. He looks forward to continuously gaining experience to contribute effectively to the development of products that make people’s lives better and easier.
