Meet Ahmad Mugharbil, an AGF scholar from Lebanon who pursued a BE in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut
“The Al Ghurair Scholarship had offered me well beyond what I would bargain for. It has been a key part of my undergraduate journey, providing a unique support system and financial stability, as well as valuable academic and extracurricular mentorship.”
Ahmad graduated from the American University of Beirut in 2019 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Energy Science and Technology at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
Ahmad is planning to work in International Organizations that assist governments and energy officials to modernize their electricity networks and achieve environmental ambitions. Also, he is looking forward to giving back to the Arab world and Lebanese communities in this domain.
“Our energy systems still lag; urgent action is needed to solve energy poverty and set efficiency and sustainability goals. Setting the enabling policy environment, which is my core interest, can accelerate tackling these problems.”
